Meetings are held every Tuesday from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the Asheboro Public Library, 201 Worth Street in Asheboro. Casual and rated play. USCF-rated quick tournaments are held monthly, please check website for dates. Players of all ages and strengths welcome.
We meet twice a week on Sundays from 2 PM until at least 4 PM (most times past 6 PM) and Mondays from 6 PM to at least 8 PM or later. We play Chess at various time controls. Several members are USCF rated and some are not. Free beginner lessons.
We meet at the Market on 268 E. Front Street Burlington, NC (http://companyshopsmarket.coop). Often we are inside, but sometimes outside. They have a hot bar, salad bar and tea/soft drinks with free refills. Also, they have coffee and lots of pastries.
The Grand Strand Chess Club meets on Tuesdays between 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Hickman Crossroads Library, a short distance over the border in Calabash, North Carolina. Contact Joe or Ralph Ashby (843)-249-5788.

Formerly - Borders Chess Club - Saturdays from 2-6pm Cafe Carolina & Bakery (New Location) 137 Weston Parkway in Cary (corner of Harrison & Weston) All skill levels and ages are welcome, including beginners and children. No fees or obligations.
Chess Club that serves Seawell Elementary School and Smith Middle School in Chapel Hill. Our weekly meeting is every Monday for internal students in the schools only, but our tournaments are open to any USCF chess players. Please check our tournament schedule at our website.
The Charlotte Chess Center & Scholastic Academy (CCCSA), founded in March of 2014, serves as a place where members of all ages and skill levels can congregate and enjoy the royal game of chess. The CCCSA also sells basic chess supplies and has an open library of over 200 books. The CCCSA serves as an educational hub for chess in the Charlotte area; offering camps, classes and lectures year round. The CCCSA runs weekly and monthly chess events such as weekly rated play, special events, lectures, classes, weekend tournaments. The CCCSA is constantly making efforts to create partnerships with local and national educational programs to further the expansion of chess not only locally but nationally.
Open to all scholastic and adult players, the VT Seva Chess Club meets on Friday evenings, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., at Barnes & Noble, 3327 Pineville-Matthews Road, Charlotte, NC 28226. This chess club is for scholastic players of all abilities. Players are grouped according to their ability and rating. A few volunteer scholastic chess players with good USCF ratings teach a half an hour lesson to the children at the beginning of every meeting. The Duke/Durham Chess Club meets Sunday evenings at 6:30 PM in the Bryan Center on Duke University's west campus. On most nights there is USCF-rated G/120 tournament in progress, with one round per night. See our website for a schedule of upcoming events.
The chess club at the North Durham Regional Library, 221 Milton Road, Durham, NC meets. every Saturday afternoon from 2 - 4:30 pm for casual play. Players of all skill levels are welcome. There are no fees, and sets and boards are provided.
The club meets on Tuesday nights from 6:00pm to 9:00pm at the Honeycutt Park and Rec, 352 Devers St, Fayetteville NC 28303.

The Henderson/Vance Chess Club meets 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. (or later?) each Thursday evening at the United Methodist Church in Henderson - enter on left side of church building, ground floor. All Beginners, Experts and in between welcome. Casual play, occasional tournaments.
The club meets on Tuesdays at the 1st Presbyterian Church, 699 North Grove St., Hendersonville from 6 PM TO 8:30 PM. Casual play open to all ages.
Meetings are held at Panera Bread at 970 S. Main St. in Kernersville. We meet every Tuesday (except holidays) from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Meets every Wednesday night from 6-8 p.m. at the Parkview Activity Center in Lumberton. Membership is opened to all ages. Directions: entering Lumberton on N.C. State Road 41 from Fairmont, N.C. Stay on 41 until you pass Knuckles Elementary School and turn left onto Inman Rd. pass the school. You will see Parkview Activity Center as you turn onto Inman Rd. - about 100 yards down on the right.
The club meets every Monday night from 7 p.m. until ... We meet at the Unitarian-Universalist Fellowship of New Bern, 308 Meadow St. (one block off Trent Rd., behind the new strip mall). Chess boards and sets provided. No fees currently. All skill levels welcome.
The Sandhills Chess Club meets twice weekly in Pinehurst at the Moore County Senior Center, 8040 U.S. Hwy 15-501 (two miles north of the Pinehurst Traffic Circle), on Tuesdays at 2:45 PM and on Thursdays at 7:00 PM.
The Raleigh Tournament Chess Club is dormant at this time, but hopes to reconvene in the future. Our website still provides information on the Big Enchilada as well as the Triangle Area Chess Club which meets on Saturdays.
Meets for casual play on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Via Cappuccino coffee shop at 3002 Sunset Ave. at the Englewood Shopping Center.
The Roxboro Chess Club currently meets on Monday nights from 5 pm to 8 pm, sometimes later. We meet at Piedmont Community College's Student Lounge in Building E. It is a casual play environment. All experience levels and ages are welcome. We also teach group and youth lessons at a nominal fee.
The club meets Tuesdays from 1-3pm at the Jackson County Senior Center. The address is 100 County Services Rd. and is located off N.C. 116 just past the Lowes. We welcome all ages and skill levels. Boards and sets are available, but we also suggest you bring one.
Meets Mondays from 6:00-9:00 PM at the Wake Forest Coffee Company (upstairs), 156 South White St. Wake Forest NC 27587. WFCC has played unrated matches with the Henderson/Vance CC and has held unrated Saturday events at the Coffee Company site. Usually about 8 to 12 players on a typical Monday night. Visitors are welcome!
The club meetings are held on Thursday from 2-4 p.m. Meetings are held in the Blue Ridge Books. It is located at 152 South Main Street, Waynesville. We welcome all ages and skill levels. Boards and sets are available, but we also suggest you bring one.
Moving from Cape Fear Games to Pine Valley Church of Christ fellowship hall beginning January 6th, 2011. Club hours are from from 6:30pm to 10:30pm. Pine Valley Church is located at 3601 South College Road. This is near the intersection of South College Road and 17th Street Extension and is adjacent to the CVS Pharmacy on the northeast corner of the intersection.
We are a very active chess club in the Wilson/Rocky Mount area. We hold a variety of chess tournaments and events each year. We average one tournament per month, and we help sponsor the Bill Hancock Memorial chess tournament held at Via Cappucino (three times each year since 2006). We also teach group and youth lessons at a nominal fee.

Winston-Salem Chess Club has been meeting at Chick-fil-A on Knollwood (SE intersection with Business 40, on the edge of Thruway Shopping Center) 6:30- 10 pm Thursdays.
