Broken pages and lost information

Broken pages and lost information

Postby Phil Lowder » Sat Nov 03, 2018 12:13 pm

From 2010 until 2012 I worked HARD on the NCAA website.

I put in a huge effort on the games collection
https://infobucket.com/ncca/viewer/index.php

history pages
https://infobucket.com/ncca/heritage/index.php

and past results.
https://infobucket.com/ncca/results/index.php

On the current website those pages are broken. Such a waste.

So, I'm hosting the last version of the website from 2012, on my own website.

The Gambit Archives are updated - 2-12-2019 with Gambits donated by Patsy Spurrier.

Phil: Thanks for posting a link to the info on the old site.

Under the History/Heritage tab - I put in some hours compiling the State Scholastic champions list through the years - and it would be difficult to duplicate that info. Not quite as hard for the NC Girls Champs. Nevertheless, we all hate broken links.

It's easy to let historical info go missing. Then, old day, you need it - and it's not there.

Thanks for keeping up with the info and sharing the link.

5 years ago, I tried to get the NCCA to add some old Gambits to the website where the other old ones were posted, but to no avail. They are posted on Chess4Us (on facebook) in the dropboxes as listed for anyone interested in these old Gambits that are not available on the NCCA site. Here is the link to the group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/166215350244798/ Thanks to Phil Lowder for your help with this. Patsy Spurrier

Greetings from Asheboro!

Awesome work! Thanks Phil and Patsy!

I understand a new updated website is in the works; I see no conceivable reason why these important contributions can't be included.

An awful lot of hard work went into these old publications, and I still get a kick out of browsing through them. :geek:

Sincerely,

Tom Hales
