It’s renewal season! Until January 31st you can renew your NCCA membership for $8. After that your dues will be $10. You may renew at http://www.ncchess.org/membership.html. Representatives will be available to process memberships at Land of the Sky as well.

Please note that we have filled our room block at the Embassy Suites for the State K-12 Championships in Winston-Salem, 19-21 February. Congratulations to FM Robin Cunningham of Chapel Hill who participated in the historic Hastings Chess Festival in England over the holiday break. Robin scored one win and three draws in his six games against Grandmasters. Robin’s exciting first round win over GM Glenn Flear can be found here. Robin scored an overall result of 3+4=2-

2016 North Carolina Girls’ Championship - February 1st, 2016 (late spring)

2016 North Carolina Invitational - February 1st, 2016

2016 North Carolina Open - March 1st, 2016 (Labor Day weekend give or take a week)

2016 North Carolina State Championships - April 1st, 2016 (NC residents only - Late October/early November)

2018 North Carolina K-12 Championships - August 1st, 2016 (NC residents/students only - mid February 2018)
