The Rated Scholastic is 4 round tournament with over 10 trophies and medals. This tournament is open to all players in grades K-8. The event is US Chess rated.

Rated Scholastic is a qualifier event to the Tournament of Champions on May 4.

REQUIREMENTS

• Must be in grades K-8

• All players must have a valid US Chess membership

• Rated under 1000 or unrated – players over 1000 see events schedule for other opportunities.

TIME CONTROL

G/20; increment 10

Each player receives 20 minutes plus a 10 second increment to complete the game.

ROUND TIMES

Round 1: 9:30am

Round 2: 10:30am 

Round 3: 11:30am

Round 4: 12:30pm

Approximate end time/awards: 1:15pm

TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS

Players that earn a “plus score” of 2.5 or more points out of 4 qualify to the Tournament of Champions on May 4.
